General Election 2024: Voting Information

With PLS Conference and the General Election taking place on the same day, it may be difficult for some attendees to vote. We therefore thought it a good idea to put together some information to ensure that attendees do not miss the chance to cast their ballot.

If you’re unsure as to whether you’re eligible to vote at the General Election, you can find the criteria here: https://www.gov.uk/elections-in-the-uk/general-election.

To vote at the General Election, you have to be registered to vote by 11:59pm on 18 June 2024. If you have yet to register, you can do so here: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

For those wanting to vote in person, polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on the day of the election.

If anyone wishes to vote early by post, you have until 5pm on 19 June 2024 to apply for a postal ballot. You can apply online here: https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.

If you would prefer to nominate someone else to vote on the day on your behalf, you must apply for a proxy vote by 5pm on 26 June 2024. You can apply online here: https://www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote.
