We are excited to announce the renaming of the Publishers Licensing Society which will now be known as Publishers’ Licensing Services.
After 36 years we felt it was appropriate to review our entire brand to create an image that better reflects our ethos and values today as a service-focused, forward-looking, and responsive organisation whilst at the same time retaining the known and trusted “PLS” identity with which our publishers and industry partners are so familiar.
We have also taken the opportunity presented by the launch of our comprehensive permissions service to pull together our growing range of services under a single themed brand. You will notice the beginnings of this updated appearance on this website as well as on the PLS Account Manager website pages (formerly PLSe) and the PLS Permissions website (PLSclear.com).
Mark Bide, Chair of the PLS, explained the rationale: “Our change of name to Publishers’ Licensing Services is designed to reflect our increasing dialogue with and growing responsiveness to publishers’ needs and wishes."
It was through such conversations with the industry that we developed our new suite of permissions management services. Launched earlier this year, PLS Permissions has already garnered for PLS the ‘Innovator of the Year’ title at the 2017 Stationers Innovation Excellence Awards.”
The rebrand has been scheduled to coincide with the European launch of the PLS Permissions service at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2017. Look out for further developments as we roll out the new branding across our services over the coming months.
