Welcome to the PLS Conference 2024

We’ve designed the conference agenda to provide you with useful information on a wide range of industry topics, including rights and licensing, sustainability, the impact of artificial intelligence, and the latest legislative and industry developments.

The morning conference sessions will have separate expert introductions and practical advice on collective licensing, rights management, and permissions – all key aspects of PLS' work. Meanwhile, in parallel sessions, PLS’ licensing partners will give important sector updates, with CLA addressing education, corporate and public sectors and NLA looking at tackling IP crime in the news industry.

In the afternoon, PLS’ trade association members will host separate sessions, each offering expert insight into vital topics for publishing in 2024 and beyond. These talks and panels are running in both the Guy Whittle Auditorium and Max Rayne Atrium so be sure to check out the full conference programme for further information.

As with last year’s conference, the rest of the afternoon will be made up of panel sessions, who will be discussing topics including collective licensing of AI, selling rights, today's general election and its potential impact on copyright and the creative industries.

Finally, Richard Charkin looks at the industries resistance to change throughout the decades, and how we will adapt to the future of publishing.
